Last Updated: July 2026

100% Offline

Works completely without internet. No remote servers or cloud transfers.

Zero Tracking

No sign-in required, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking SDKs integrated.

Hardware Storage

PIN and security data are stored securely on-device using OS Keystore/Keychain.

Overview & Data Philosophy

This Privacy Policy explains clearly and transparently how Private Journal (and other offline utility applications developed by Muneer Hasan) handle user privacy and data security. We believe your personal data belongs solely to you.

Data Collection & Sharing

Our applications do NOT collect, transmit, monetize, or share any personal information. Specifically:

  • No Account Requirement: The app does not require registration, login, email address, or user profile.
  • No Internet Connections: The app operates offline and does not transmit data to external servers.
  • Local Device Storage: All your journal entries, notes, and preferences are stored exclusively on your local device database.
  • Encrypted Authentication: Your PIN is never saved in plain text — only a salted cryptographic hash is stored on-device via secure hardware storage (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain).
  • Biometric Security: Fingerprint or Face ID unlock is processed entirely by your device's operating system. The app never accesses or stores your raw biometric data.
  • No Adverts or Analytics: The app contains zero third-party advertising, zero telemetry, and zero crash reporting SDKs.
  • No Sensitive Permissions: The app does not request access to your contacts, GPS location, camera, microphone, or photo gallery.

Data Control & Permanent Deletion

You have total ownership of your data at all times. Uninstalling the application permanently deletes all stored journal entries and app data from your device, as no backup exists on external servers. You can also manually wipe all data at any time inside the app via Settings → Delete All Entries.

Policy Changes

If this policy is ever updated (for instance, if an optional encrypted cloud backup feature is introduced in a future release), this document will be updated immediately and highlighted in the application's official release notes.
